#MRWomenToday listen again: Richard Adams, The Walton Centre, Stephen Hawking

We were joined in the studio today by Richard Adams, an extraordinary local man who - despite only having 5% sight left since a debilitating condition affected him 3 years ago - is taking part in a 120ft abseil in Wales this weekend to raise money for the Walton Centre that has helped him so much.

Richard also talked about the excellent support he has had from Manx Blind Welfare and the RNIB, and about how he's been buoyed on by the support and encouragement of the Island community around him too. If you would like to support Richard in his fundraising efforts, drop an email to us at womentoday@manxradio.com and we will put you in touch. To find out more about the Walton Centre, visit their website and facebook pages

We also looked back at the life of Professor Stephen Hawking, who passed away at the age of 76 in the early hours of this morning - 54 years after being told he only had a few years to live, and having provided us with decades of work as a scientist that has changed our perspective of the world and universe in which we live.

And, following on from our weekly rant topic, Beth instigated the great Digestive Debate of 2018 - to cheese, or not to cheese? Hundreds of you had your say...

If you missed any part of the programme, you can listen again at this link for the next 7 days. Tomorrow, you'll be meeting Father Ted, Dougal AND Mrs Doyle - no, really, y'will, y'WILL! Join us from 2pm.
