On the programme today: –
- we talked about the major modernisation of the Isle of Man’s sexual offences legislation. Dr Alex Allison MHK and Tanya August-Hanson MLC both members of the Department of Home Affairs told us about the changes and how important it is for the public to have their say; you can find the consultation at this link
- we also spoke to them both about the Domestic Abuse bill, in light of today's news from the UK that special measures are being introduced to help victims of domestic abuse so they won't be asked questions by their alleged attackers in court;
- also with us in the studio this afternoon were Pam Beedon and Aileen Rampton who were talking about the potential for opening a new branch of the WI on the Island; there is a meeting on January 30th at Manx Blind Welfare, for more information call Pam on 491721
