Women Today listen again: Heather Morris and Reverend Freer

On the programme today:

- Beth caught up with Reverend Philip Freer, former Vicar of Braddan and now one of three members of the Chaplaincy Team from Noble's Hospital, who provide a 24 hour on call service. He told us about their work, the importance of the Chapel itself and he also gave details of the new STAR service (Still Treasured Always Remembered) a special service of remembrance between Christmas and New Year aims to offer comfort and support to Island families who have lost babies to miscarriage or stillbirth.It will be held on 28 December 2018 at 2pm and will give families time and space to remember the child or children they have lost and light a candle in their memory. It has been organised by staff at Noble’s Hospital who want to support families during what can be a difficult time of year for those who’ve lost loved ones; find out more here

- we also spoke with Heather Morris, author of The Tattooist of Auschwitz, which tells the remarkable story of Lale Sokolov; the book is largely a love story that developed against all odds in the most challenging of conditions and cirumstances, it is a story of hope and of courage and would be a beautiful and affecting gift for any one who appreciates literature, history and human interest stories this Christmas; the book is available from local bookshops, you can find out more about Heather here and hear the full interview with her on our Podcast Page shortly;

- we talked about the apparent right Royal feud between Meghan and Kate; discussed inappropriate Christmas song lyrics and asked if there was anything wrong with hugging at work

- AND we gave away an Afternoon Tea for Two at the stunning Milntown Estate as the next door in our Manx Radio and Tynwald Mills Advent Calendar opened, with Ali Clark being the lucky winner! You can listen back to any part of today's programme at this link for the next 7 days.
