David Callister first broadcast on Manx Radio in 1965 and, throughout the 70's was the regular presenter of the Folk Show until taking on the Country Counry Music Show in 1977. Now, 38 years later he is still it's presenter.
David became a full-time broadcaster in 1983 on Mandate, the current affairs programme dealing primarily with politics. He steered both Mandate and the Mannin Line through 17 years until "semi-retirement" in 2000, when he became Senior Political Reporter. After a five year period as a Member of Tynwald in the Legislative Council, he left poiltics behind to host the Sunday Breakfast Show, Daybreak, and New Cool Country on Thursdays from 9pm to 10pm.
Through 42 years as a regular broadcaster David also presented the major interview series "Time To Remember" in which he spoke to senior citizens about their lives; one thousand editions of "Kelly's Eye" which he co-hosted with Peter kelly and numerous other music and magazine shows
Happily married to Ann since 1960, they now enjoy family life with their children, grandchildren and a great-grandaughter.
