The Annual Isle of Man Charity Challenge - sponsored by AFD Software of Ramsey - invites teams of 6th form students from the Island's secondary schools to select a Manx-registered charity, then learn about it, raise funds for it, engage in advocacy work to present its message to others, and then prepare an original presentation summarising its aims, achievements and objectives in the most compelling way possible. The presentations are judged by an independent panel, and the one judged best is awarded £5,000 - to be given to advance the work of the featured charity.
The winning team this year came from Ramsey Grammar School, and their chosen charity is The Leprosy Mission, who was awarded the top prize of £5,000. On today's programme, the team tell their story - in a conversation between Team Leader Arabella Ayen, Tom Willis, Adam Shaw, Elliott Nash, Craig Huxon and Daniel Garrett.
There's some nostalgic music, too, in the form of an Estelle White song, popular for so many years in primary schools at Harvest time - Autumn Days ...
