At Your Service

Sunday, 11 April 2021 - 30 minutes

Following the death of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, we reflect in words, music and prayers on 'a life well lived' for the benefit of others - and including not only the late Duke, but all who have died recently.
We also recall an exceptional man who, at the age of 90,  died in March  - Reverend Canon Dr John Polkinghorne -  a distinguished academic, an expert in quantum physics, and an Anglican priest who was awarded the £1 million Templeton Prize for his use of science to explore life's deepest questions.
In this programme, we listen again to an interview he gave when he visited the Island some years ago, sharing his thoughts clearly and simply, on the nature of God and the relationship between faith and science.
And we continue our celebration of the Easter season with uplifting music, and with a diary entry which is so gloriously joyful that it is almost a prayer in itself!
Music is an important part of At Your Service and if you would like to choose a favourite hymn or piece of sacred music, for inclusion in a future programme, do please email me - judithley@manxradio.com
