Bob Carswell delivers a weekly programme of great Manx Gaelic broadcasting and entertainment. In William Gell's 1906 poem, 'Mannin Veg Veen : A Poetical Sketch of the Isle of Man' we hear about the life-saver, David 'Dawsey' Kewley, whose monument, erected in 1904 near the Jubilee Clock, is now in the Sunken Gardens on the Loch Promenade. We also hear from a scandalised burgher of Douglas who was disgusted at the scanty bathing costumes of the men in the Port Skillion bathing facility, before looking at the landing piers, fun on the sands, the Castle Mona hotel and finally the dancing at the Derby Castle. Our story in Manx takes into space with a character very much from the London of 'The Sweeney'.
