First World War stories from the Isle of Man - Postcards to a Manx father in the First World War
"My darling Daddy, I want you to come home [...] if you don't come home soon we will forget what you are like [...] Your loving daughter, Emma xxxxxx"
This is tender postcard to a soldier in France in 1916 never received a reply. Instead, it was returned with the rest of this father's belongings when he was killed in action.
This is one of the stories which features in the First World War exhibition recently opened at the Manx Aviation and Military Museum near Ronaldsway.
It is presented by the director of the Museum, Ivor Ramsden.
