T E Brown' 'Betsy Lee' (extract) performed by John Kennaugh: John Kennaugh performs an extract from T E Brown's great Manx dialect poem, 'Betsy Lee'.
This is the Manx National Poet's first and most reverred 'Fo'c's'le Yarn', concerning the doomed love between Tom Baynes and Betsy Lee. John Kennaugh here selects a section close to his own heart, concerning the quite peace of farm work with cows.
This live recording was made at the Manks Concert, hosted by the Manx branch of the Celtic Congress, Peel Centenary Centre, 1 February 2014.
