Manks Concert in memory of Sophia Morrison - 'Ersooyl' - A poem by Mona Douglas, read by Annie Kissack
A poem by Mona Douglas, written in memory of her great friend and role-model, Sophia Morrison.
First published in the final edition of Morrison’s journal, ‘Mannin,’ which was ultimately edited by the 18-year-old Mona Douglas, the poem recalls something of the meetings between these two great figures of Manx culture.
It is performed by Annie Kissack.
This is a part of the “Manks Concert” marking the anniversary of the death of Sophia Morrison.
Held at the Peel Centenary Centre on the 14th of January 2017, it marked the 100th anniversary of the death of this great figure of Manx cultural history.
