Manx Music - Kate Dowman: 'Whispering Tides'
A short interview with Kate Dowman on the release of her album of Manx songs, 'Whispering Tides.'
The album consists of 14 songs from the Isle of Man and represents a life goal for Kate in its being a setting down of these beautiful folksongs in Manx Gaelic. Kate and award winning producer Chris Craker have recorded the songs in a new way and whose sound has been described as "sparkling and floating like the mist on the hills and the fire of the sea God Manannan."
Culture Vannin has played a role in the project of creating this recording, both through the grant given for its recording, and in the advice and help given in interpreting the songs and its language.
