People and Places - The Manx Electric Railway: From the Douglas Shed to Ramsey on Tram Car No. 1
The world's oldest surviving electric railway is on the Isle of Man and this video celebrates this astonishing Victorian masterpiece.
Using footage from recent years, it also includes rare footage of the Mercury Arc Rectifiers, now no longer in use, and a trip made in October 2013 down the full length of the line in Car Number 1, the oldest electric car still in service in the world.
Culture Vannin was invited to accompany Andrew Scarffe and Paul Marshall, who were crewing the car, on this private journey.
There's no commentary - just the sounds and images of the Manx Electric Railway.
