Competitors could come under pressure from Tesco takeover 

The retail giant has bought all nine Shoprite stores 

A Douglas South MHK believes competitors will start to feel the pressure as Tesco opens more stores on the Isle of Man. 

The retail giant has bought all nine Shoprite stores - which has branches across the Island. 

Chief Minister Alfred Cannan says government has met with Tesco and there's interest of a 'clear commitment' to Manx suppliers and producers.  

But Claire Christian says the likes of Marks and Spencer, SPAR and Co-op, whose prices are stable, may face pressure from cheaper prices:
