Further fall in inflation for February

CPI rate falls to 3.5 per cent 

The rate of inflation on the price we pay for goods and services fell again in February down to 3.5 per cent.

It's a decrease of 0.9 per cent compared to the previous month.

The biggest contributor to the rate 'Alcoholic beverages and tobacco' has risen 11.1 per cent compared with this time last year.

Within the largest increases: electricity has risen by 34.8 per cent, wines & spirits at 20.7 per cent, and eggs at 18.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, gas has seen a decrease of 26.8 per cent, biscuits and cakes 15.3 per cent, and multivitamin tablets 10 per cent.
