Accused of threatening unlawful violence during fight
Two teenagers have appeared in court following an incident which left a teenager requiring hospital treatment.
The girls – who are 14 and 15 but who can’t be identified for legal reasons – have both been charged with affray.
They’re accused of threatening unlawful violence against two other teenage girls in Lord Street car park, at around 7pm, on Tuesday (8 August).
The court was told the allegation centres around a fight on the land near to Barbary Coast at around 7pm.
Police have previously appealed for witnesses to the altercation saying one person had received treatment for their injuries at hospital.
They also urged members of the public who had intervened at the time to separate the group, to come forward.
The two girls will appear before a juvenile court on 16 August.
Bail was granted with conditions including a curfew – Magistrates also banned them from having any contact with each other or the alleged victims.
Chair of the bench David Christian told them: “This is a serious matter that you are before the court for and I hope you realise how serious.
“Make sure you keep out of trouble between now and your next court appearance.”
