Weekend closures for Spring Valley Roundabout

Resurfacing work on major Douglas junction

There's due to be weekend closures on the Spring Valley Roundabout in Douglas while resurfacing work takes place.

The junction, also known as Fort North, will close from 6am this Saturday until 6pm on Sunday (14-15 October).

It's part of the ongoing resurfacing of the New Castletown Road between Spring Valley junction and bottom of Richmond Hill.

It will close again to traffic on 21 and 22 October.

Motorists heading south from Douglas are advised to travel via Douglas Harbour, past the Nunnery and join the diversion route past the Energy from Waste Plant and back onto the New Castletown Road.

You can also use Braddan Bridge, Vicarage Road, Cooil Road to Cooil Roundabout and St Mark's Road.

The Department of Infrastructure says the work is being done outside the normal working week to 'minimise impact on the travelling public and business'.
