RCN members stage walkout as part of ongoing pay dispute
Nurses across the Island are taking strike action today (Thursday).
Royal College of Nursing members have walked out over an ongoing dispute calling for better pay and conditions.
It's the latest action from the RCN members, who first walked out in July.
Today is the first of three further days of planned strike action, with the next two taking place in October.

The RCN's Operations Manager told us he wants to see Manx Care and government engage in 'real negotiations'.
David Kirwan says nurses are having to wait three or four years for a pay increase, whilst other public servants have seen their wages go up:
Meanwhile, one nurse described working at Noble's Hospital as being like 'going to war every day' due to unsafe staffing levels.

She says there's no justification for the way the Island's nurses are currently being overworked:
Health services are being disrupted until 8pm this evening - some are running 'Christmas Day' style schedules, while others are suspended entirely.
