Ravens on the road for first time since early November

For the first time since early November, FC Isle of Man are out on the road in the NWCFL Premier Division when they take on Padiham tomorrow afternoon (13 January).

The Ravens head to Lancashire after a tough run of results which has seen them suffer five defeats in their last six outings.

The latest of those came last weekend as the Manx side had a spectacular collapse against Charnock Richard - spurning a two-goal lead to end up losing 5-3.

FC Isle of Man manager, Paul Jones is confident they can use last Saturday's frustration to create a good response when they return to action:

The Island outfit's string of poorer displays means they remain toward the lower end of the form table, 21st out of the 24 teams over the last six matches.

Last Saturday's loss was another blow in FC Isle of Man's promotion ambitions as they go into this weekend 14th in the table and 12 points adrift of the promotion play-off spots.

But the Ravens may take heart from their previous encounter this season with Padiham on 12 August, 2023 which saw strikes from Dean Pinnington and Charlie Higgins secure a 2-1 win.

In the months following, however, Padiham have become something of a recent force in the NWCFL Premier Division, climbing to seventh in the standings and unbeaten in their last six in the league, winning four of those.

It's part of a larger run of strong results in which they've lost just twice in their last 14 fixtures in all competitions.

Padiham vs FC Isle of Man takes place at the Ruby Civil Arena this Saturday (13 January) kicking-off at 1pm.
