Manx amputee player scores in maiden appearance after missing all of 2023

Manx amputee footballer Sean Jackson enjoyed a dream debut for his club as he made his return from a long-term injury.

Jackson - an England international - made his first appearance for Everton during gameday one of fixtures of the IKO EAFL at Reaseheath College and scored the opening goal in a 2-2 draw with Portsmouth.

Everton then earned a commanding 5-2 win against Chelsea in their second match to go joint-top of the table with Portsmouth following the opening games.

Jackson missed the entire 2023 campaign due to rupturing his anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL) whilst representing England at the 2022 World Amputee Football Cup.

On social media following his maiden outing for 'The Amputoffees', Jackson says he's 'buzzing' to start his 'Everton journey', adding 'trust the process and you get the rewards... literally all down to the support I've had around me.'
