Make mine a treble!

There was joy for all three Manx sides in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Two on Saturday.

The best result of the day came as Douglas triumphed 32-20 at a team only just pipped for promotion last season, Oldershaw.

First half tries from Ryan Maddox and Simon Heggs, plus a penalty from Bryn Snellgrove, gave Douglas a 13-10 half-time lead.

A Will Latta double in the second half, plus one from Carl Markle-Fearns and two conversions from Snellgrove, ensured they not only won, but gained a bonus point too.

Vagabonds’ plans were disrupted slightly as their game kicked-off late due to a delayed flight.

However, it didn’t knock them out of their stride as they won 17-7 at Marple.

A Ross McCulloch try and a Johnny Beckley penalty gave them an interval lead and they extended that, courtesy of a Sam Cannell try and a conversion from Beckley.

A John Watling try and a penalty from Fintan Cummins set Ramsey on their way to a 33-6 home win over Moore.

Luke Robertson and Ali Trace (two) added to their tally after the break, ably assisted by two penalties and two conversions from Cummins, to seal a bonus point for the northerners.

In RFU Women’s Division Two North, a new-look Vagabonds – comprising six players who hadn’t played rugby before – went down 57-0 at Darlington.
