2017 earnings survey on the way

Govt seeks big picture on Islanders' pay

Government's latest survey will quiz more than 500 local employers on pay practices.

The 2017 Earnings Survey is aiming to find out the average rate of pay is for Islanders, and whether it has increased on previous years.

Findings are further broken down by groups such as age and gender.

Last year more than 99% of those surveyed filed a response.

Some firms are legally required to take part.

The 2016 Survey found an all-round 2% increase in average earnings.

All employers involved this year will be contacted over the coming weeks.
