Gabriella Corkish

Gabriella Corkish

Gabriella is an independent candidate standing in the constituency of Onchan.

She is currently a sitting Onchan District Commissioner, having been elected in April 2025.

This is Gabriella's first time standing in a general election, although her grandfather, Geoff Corkish, was an MHK for 13 years.

Gabriella says she'll be prioritising infrastructure improvements, education provision, food security, and ensuring that pensioners and vulnerable households receive support that is both targeted and genuinely effective.

While the 20-year-old admits some will question her age and experience, she says she doesn't accept them as barriers.

"There is a clear expectation from the public that policies should not only be announced but also properly delivered.

"It is difficult to avoid the conclusion that, at present, this standard is not being met consistently.

"I intend to offer a more open, accountable, and outcomes-focused approach to representation, one that is grounded in delivery rather than assurance."

We asked each candidate to tell us what their top priorities would be for the next administration.

Gabriella chose better coordination in health and social care, improved support for children and vulnerable people, and a serious approach to food security and affordability.
