Janet Thommeny
Janet is an independent candidate standing in Douglas North.
She is a retired mental health professional, and while she spent 10 years as a Douglas City Councillor, this will be her first time standing in a General Election.
She has one child and in her spare time enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and having long walks with her Border Collie, Annie.
Janet also enjoys crafting (mainly knitting and cross stitch), reading, socialising with friends, theatre trips and meals out.
We asked each candidate to tell us what their priorities would be if elected.
Janet chose monitoring how immigration is controlled and impacts on the economy and provision of other services, opportunities for the Island's young people, and housing issues.
