Abby Quirk
Abby Quirk is an independent candidate standing in Arbory, Castletown and Malew.
She's a small business owner in Ballasalla and this is her first time standing for election.
She has four children, as well as a rescue dog called Luna, a rescue cat called muffin and a hamster called Marshmallow.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, learning about her Manx heritage with her Port St Mary fisherman lineage, and teaching her children about their ancestors.
Abby says: "This isn’t a decision I’ve taken lightly. Over the past few years, I’ve found myself campaigning on issues that have affected my own family and many others across the Island.
"I’m not standing because I think I have all the answers. I’m standing because I’ve lived through these challenges, I’ve spent years advocating for others, and I believe people deserve representatives who understand what life is really like."
We asked each candidate to tell us what their priorities would be if elected.
Abby chose Manx Care and CAMHS, reform of the criminal justice process by giving victims better communication and greater transparency, ad supporting small businesses.
