Helen Sheppard

Helen Sheppard
Helen is an independent candidate standing in Rushen.
She is founder and trustee of the local children's charity, A Little Piece of Hope, which provides support to bereaved families and children facing serious illness.
She's also employed in school support.
Helen has six children, as well as a dog and a cat.
In her spare time, she enjoying photography, event organisation and being in the community.
Helen says: "For the past 14 years I’ve worked in schools, I’ve worked as a carer, learning what people from various walks of life need.
"I've also founded and run a charity, to turn personal loss into practical help for bereaved and seriously ill families across the Isle of Man.
"I'd like to bring that same care and determination into the Keys."
We asked each candidate to tell us what their priorities would be if elected.
Helen chose government reform (with more public involvement and transparency), improving healthcare for both physical and mental health, and more support for carers and those with disabilities.
