Peter Shimmin
Peter is an independent candidate standing in the constituency of Douglas Central.
He's recently left his job as an implementation officer for Public Health Isle of Man.
This is Peter's first time standing in a general election, although his dad John Shimmin served as the area's MHK for 20 years.
In his spare time, he says he has a strong interest in the performing arts, especially theatre and musicals, having been involved in many productions both on stage and as director or assistant director.
He also enjoys creative writing and reading, especially science fiction.
Peter says: "I care deeply about where the Isle of Man is heading. I believe the decisions we make now will define what life looks like for my generation and the ones that follow.
"I want to listen, speak up, and work hard for Douglas Central, with energy, compassion, and a genuine commitment to the place we all call home."
We asked each candidate to tell us what their top priorities would be for the next administration.
Peter chose tackling the cost of living, supporting young people and families, and rebuilding trust in the Public Service.
