Ceremony to mark occasion
It's fifty years to the day (Fri) since the last steam train left Peel station.
No.5 "Mona" set out for the last time from the west on 7th September 1968.
A short ceremony will take place today at 3.30pm with an address from Peter Kelly from the IOM Victorian Society.
All are welcome - those interested should meet in the foyer of the House of Manannan to help wave the last train off!
There's also a display of photographs from 50s, 60s and 70s
