PROWL reaction to Clarkson decision

The leader of PROWL says he's quite surprised a verdict on footpaths at Langness took as long as it did.

Ian Costain is however relieved over a court's final judgement at the end of last week, which ruled seven miles of paths on the peninsula are public rights of way that can’t be closed.

The battle has been a high-profile one, with extra publicity being generated by the involvement of TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson, who tried to block public access to a path running by his property.

Mr Costain says the thoroughness of the inquiry at least means all interested parties had ample opportunity to have their say:
