Regeneration chief takes views on board

Differences of opinion over regeneration schemes in public places are to be expected - but won't result in work stopping.

That view from the government's regeneration manager, Steven Stanley, who is overseeing schemes to upgrade town and village centres around the Island.

An £8 million fund has been ringfenced for regeneration.

Peel marketplace's new look is proving controversial - with a section of the community voicing strong opposition to the installation of a white granite step 'terrace' in front of the church.

Mr Stanley says everyone's view is valid - but his priority is the long-term aim of the overall project:
