Do we need to update the provision of sex education in Manx schools?
Ramsey MHK Dr Alex Allinson asked for more information from the Department of Education and Children in Tynwald this week.
He says more teaching on puberty, pornography and the changing face of relationships should be added to the curriculum at a primary and secondary level.
In the UK, the Education Secretary recently announced the roll-out of compulsory sexual education in English maintained and academy schools.
In the 50s, 60s and 70s, it was a lesson in biology - more information became available in schools throughout the 80s and 90s.
It was updated at the turn of the century - and Dr Allinson believes now is the time for change
