Blue Plaque Unveiling by Lt Governor

Everyone is invited to The Parade and Market Square where His Excellency the Lt Governor Sir John Lorimer will unveil a Blue Plaque to mark the birthplace of Sir Frank Gill. This will be exactly 100 years following the start of Sir Frank's key role in the creation of the BBC. He was considered to be the greatest international telephone engineer of his generation. A number of MHKs and local schools will be taking part.
