Manx-based multimillionaire Mark Shuttleworth has splashed out more than £11 million on an exclusive resort off Africa’s west coast.
The resort on Príncipe Island has 34 bungalows which cost up to £7,500 a night and two private beaches.
Mr Shuttleworth, who founded Canonical software, says he’s thrilled with the purchase and he wants to help develop eco-tourism, agriculture and sustainable forestry on the Island paradise.
And he’s also signed an investment agreement with the regional government which will see him invest in the Island's airport and pier.
