    A parent on the Isle of Man who has been campaigning for the legalisation of drugs after loosing his sons to a MDMA overdose is welcoming a drug policy.The Isle of Man Government is preparing a new approach aimed at reducing the harms associated with drug use.It follows a directive from Tynwald in November 2023.

    On the 4th March the House of Keys will choose four people to become members of the Legislative Council. Prior to that vote, Agenda will be speaking with all the candidates so that you can find out more about the people that hope to become national politicians, voting in Tynwald on policy and finance and playing a significant role in shaping the laws of our Island. We hear this week from the longest serving Tynwald Member, Bill Henderson MLC, who is hoping to retain his seat. LegCo members have a big say on how our Island is run so it’s important to know who they are!

  • Giles Job relives childhood memories of Derby Castle

    Giles Job lived in the Derby Castle Hotel as a child in the late 1940s. At the time the building was divided into two apartments and he and his family lived in one of them.
    On a recent visit to the Isle of Man he took the opportunity to talk to Charles Guard about his memories of the living there, including anecdotes about the Derby Castle theatre, the dance hall and the underground maze of cellars and passages that he explored as a young boy.

    A woman whose mum was abandoned in Ballure Glen near Ramsey as a baby nearly 80 years ago believes she may have traced the family names of her birth grandparents.Mary Ramsey, who was later adopted and renamed Stephanie Taylor (née French), was raised in the UK where she lived until her death in 2012.Her daughter Lorraine Berry has now used DNA tracing to find out more about her biological family.
