By-election will be test of Manx Government's policies says candidate

The fifth candidate to declare in West Douglas says next month’s by-election will be a timely test of the Manx Government’s policies and record.

Quintin Gill, who was a Rushen MHK for 10 years until 19 months ago, has entered the fray having moved to the capital to live last year.

Mr Gill admits he’s missed the cut and thrust of politics and says it’s a time for national politicians to earn respect, even at the cost of short term popularity.

Mr Gill is one of the five candidates to have declared for next month’s election.

The others are: financial analyst Chris Thomas, taxi driver Martin Moore, retired fire officer John Skinner and former ADC and private secretary at government house Clive Dawson.

Nominations close next Tuesday - April the 23rd.
