Tough criteria for Small Grant funding
Island charities working overseas will face tougher hurdles in future, to gain funding from the Manx government.
A review of the International Development budget has established five new funding streams, including a Small Grant fund of £540,000 spread over two years.
The new regime is part of a government drive to target support from an overall budget of £2.4 million, at projects which produce effective results.
Spokesperson for Christian Aid in the Isle of Man Louise Whitelegg says Manx charities welcome the grant scheme aimed specifically at them.
But she warns some organisations will face problems meeting a new raft of criteria and regulations - as the bar has been raised:
Public invited to suggest new brownfield site for potential re-development
Anthony Allen re-elected as chair at Onchan Commissioners
Police urge public to check person's identification if claiming to be a police officer
No date set for reopening of NCAS reuse centre
