DHSC acknowledges GP concerns

Contracts being reviewed says Chief Exec

The health department has admitted there are 'pressures' facing GPs on the Island, but insists it's working to avoid a recruitment crisis.

DHSC Chief Executive Malcolm Couch was responding to comments made by the Royal Society of General Practitioners this week.

Professor Helen Stokes-Lampard suggested morale among Manx GPs is low, citing growing patient lists and funding shortages.

Local doctors are currently employed by government on a contractual basis, of which the DHSC says it's reviewing the terms.
