Marine infrastructure consultation closes today

Presentation of regulations are expected to be handed to Tynwald in July

A government consultation into marine infrastructure closes today. (16 February)

Controlled marine areas are defined as: 

  • Offshore renewable energy generation,
  • Aggregate extraction,
  • Laying of submarine cables and pipelines,
  • Gas drilling,
  • Carbon capture and storage,
  • Exploitation of natural gas.

Responses to the consultation will enable the Department of Infrastructure to determine how to introduce the regulations.
