Nick Bailey recalls 'rough days' on Radio Caroline

Former pirate radio newsreader shares stories from his book

A former newsreader on Radio Caroline North, moored off Ramsey in the sixties, has recalled being on the point of abandoning ship in a storm.

Nick Bailey was the first presenter to appear on Classic FM, when the first track played was Handel's 'Zadoc the Priest'

He has written about his life and experiences in a book called 'Across the waves'.

He recalls the problems, reading news on the pirate ship Radio Caroline North, as the Irish Sea became turbulent:
