Police say they have completed forensic tests at a house in Peveril Road, Willaston, where an assault is understood to have taken place on Monday evening.

As a result officers, who had stayed at the premises, have been stood down.

Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department are continuing their enquiries and anybody else who can help is asked to ring Onchan Police Station, on 675190, or the anonymous Crimestoppers number, 0800 555 111.

It's been reported a number of people have been arrested and questioned in relation to the incident.
