Sound and Therapy sessions return to Island

Pioneering therapy designed to help adults and youngsters with learning difficulties will be offered in the Isle of Man again this summer.

A visit by the London-based Sound Learning Centre is being funded for the fourth year by Manx Mencap.

Sound and light therapy sessions will be offered to 10 people in the summer, and the programme's principal Pauline Allen will be assessing those taking part over the next two days.

Previous visits have resulted in positive behaviour changes and the sessions have proved beneficial for some youngsters with conditions like Asperger's and autism.

Vice chair of Manx Mencap Di O'Brien says the charity's raised funds to bring an outreach programme to the Island so as many people can benefit as possible:
