
The gauntlet has been thrown down to the Manx government over the amount of allegedly substandard housing in the Isle of Man.
Earlier this week, Onchan MHK Peter Karran said too many local residents were paying over the odds for poor quality accommodation in the private sector.
Social Care Minister Martyn Quayle reacted angrily to that claim, and pointed to the government's plan to invest £130 million in new housing over the next five years.
But Mr Karran now says throwing money at the problem is not the solution.
