Vandalism at Bowl and Strang Road, Union Mills

At a time when talks are ongoing about the possible refurbishment of The Bowl in Douglas, a police investigation is underway to find vandals who targeted the headquarters of the Isle of Man Football Association there.

The door to the storeroom was kicked open and several items of clothing were removed and thrown around the pitch and spectator area.

Police say it appears to be mindless act, and they are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Meanwhile, sometime over the weekend a storage shed at the back of the Methodist Hall on Strang Road, Union Mills was damaged by a heavy blunt instrument or frenzied kicking.

The shed stored the toys and play equipment for a playgroup, and is now unusable.

Officers say a considerable amount of noise would have been made during the attack, and once again they are appealing to anyone with information to get in touch.

The numbers to ring are Police Headquarters on 631212 or the anonymous Crimestoppers number, which is 0800 555 111.
