The film tells the story of the Colby River from where it reaches the sea at Kentraugh to its source on the slopes of Cronk ny Arrey Laa.

The film which beautifully tells the story of the Colby River was commissioned by Arbory and Rushen Commissioners and supported by Culture Vannin. It charts the history of the river, from where it reaches the sea at Kentraugh to its source on the slopes of Cronk ny Arrey Laa. The film features interviews, song, poetry, the rich history of the river, and some superb drone footage.
It is based on the signed walk the Commissioners launched in 2023 which captures snippets of local history in words and pictures on boards along the route. This was based on an article written by the late Cecil McFee in 1979 which appeared in Manx Life in 1981.
It was a packed house at the Erin Arts Centre in November 2024 which the film premiere (a world premiere indeed!). Tickets sold out in days.
This showing is free to attend with all donations collected on the night being put towards Church Funds. Light refreshments will be served.
