Vehicle to improve access to services for children and families across the Isle of Man
Conister Bank has donated a new nine-seater minibus to The Children's Centre, in what the charity says is its largest corporate contribution to date.
The vehicle will help the Centre continue delivering services to children and families, particularly given its location outside public transport routes.
The donation followed discussions during Conister Bank's charity week at the Centre, after staff became aware that the existing minibus was nearing the end of its usable life.
The original vehicle later broke down completely, creating operational challenges for the charity.
According to The Children's Centre, the new minibus will be used to transport young people to outreach programmes, school-linked activities, and projects based at Wallaby Farm, including the Wild Space.
In 2025, the charity delivered more than 1,300 group sessions and over 1,000 one-to-one sessions, providing therapeutic and nature-based support to children, teenagers, and families across the Isle of Man.
Conister Bank’s Head of Sales, Andy Bass, said the bank was pleased to offer practical support that would have a direct day-to-day impact.
The Children’s Centre’s Chief Executive, Joff Whitten, said the vehicle would allow the organisation to be more flexible and responsive in its work with young people.
