Anti-fraud advice through your door

Scheme raises awareness of conmen

A new leaflet campaign is hoping to protect livelihoods - and purse strings - by raising awareness among Island residents about fraud.

The Isle of Man Bankers' Association has teamed up with charity Victim Support and the police force, to produce an easy-to-read guide which will be widely distributed to Island households.

The leaflet highlights the tactics used by modern-day conmen to access other people's bank accounts, and gives advice on how to avoid being targeted.

HSBC, Barclays Bank, Natwest, Lloyds and the Isle of Man Bank are backing the initiative.

Police will promote the message through social media.
