Appleby looks to the east

Managing partner at legal and fiduciary firm Appleby Sean Dowling had been talking up the possibilities for business expansion in China when the Isle of Man's Tax Information Exchange Agreement comes into force in April.

Mr Dowling says the Island's growing relationship with China, the world's biggest exporting economy, has already opened the door to a vast number of new opportunities for local firms.

He says the Isle of Man has demonstrated to the political powers in China that it is 'more than just another offshore centre' and can provide a cog in the trade wheel.

Appleby is actively pursuing new business opportunities in the Far East, with Appleby Aviation in Hong Kong expecting to capitalise on the expected growth in the Chinese corporate aircraft industry.
