Gib lane will also be 'realigned' as part of the plans
The former Empire Garage in Peel has been given planning approval to be demolished and turned into seven properties.
Hesketh Investments will also be 'realigning' Gib Lane to allow room for the properties and create additional parking.
It closed in 2022 and its associated buildings including the reception, offices and the garage itself have been in a state of 'disuse' since.
It's proposed to have four, three bed houses on Marine Parade, and three, three bed houses on Stanley Road.
Planning Committee member Sam Skelton said these types of developments are what is needed on the Island, and more brownfield sites should be brought forward.
The Planning Committee unanimously agreed to the proposals.
