Andy Roy heralds universal statement
Baker Tilly Isle of Man Principal Andy Roy has given the 2017 Manx budget a cautious welcome.
He says Treasury Minister Alfred Cannan produced a statement which everyone will, at least eventually, think contains something for them.
Mr Roy says there was 'nothing spectacular' in the speech - but as a society, we should 'celebrate what we have'
He welcomed the increase in personal allowances, and headline moves to protect the least well off in society.
But while we have a duty of care to those out of work, Mr Roy believes we have to also focus on the majority of the population who are in gainful employment.
