Cains welcomes far-flung visitors

Law firm co-hosts SCFMP summit

An Island law firm has welcomed representatives from 20 small nations for the first phase of a fortnight of learning.

The Small Countries Financial Management Programme has been running since 2009, when it was founded as an Isle of Man charity.

Senior public servants, bankers and financiers from places as diverse as Bhutan, Tonga, Vanuatu and Kiribati have been attending the summit regularly for the past seven years.

This year's programme was hosted at Cains' heaquarters at Fort Anne in Douglas and at the Nunnery, before the course moved to Oxford for the second week.

Delegates attended workshops on everything from leadership to negotiation, technical skill and financial regulations.
