Chance to explore ICT career options

A programme which aims to prepare youngsters for the world of work has sent a party of Manx students to spend a day with an ICT employer in London this week.

Fourteen A-level computer science pupils experienced life in the workplace as part of a mentor matching scheme affiliated with UK company Career Ready.

The Island's delegation joined 1,600 other youngsters from across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The initiative is supported by the Departments of Economic Development and Education and Children. 

Coordinator for Career Ready Isle of Man Andrew Cole says the programme offers students options in deciding their next step:
